Ethiopian Ambassador to China visits China Leather and Footwear Industry Research Institute
In the afternoon of August 12th, Ethiopian Ambassador to China Teshome Toga, Minister Evan, First Secretary Simon, and Commercial Commissioner Huang Zhuo visited China Leather and Footwear Industry Research Institute. Duan Limin, Dean of China Leather and Footwear Industry Research Institute, Chen Lei, Secretary of the Party Committee, Zhang Jiankang, Deputy Dean, Heads of Science and Technology R&D Center, Information Industry Center, Training Center, and relevant leaders of China Light Inspection and Certification Co., Ltd. participated in the event.
The Ethiopian delegation visited the Sino Light Inspection and Testing Center and the Laboratory of the Science and Technology Research and Development Center of the institute. Technical staff of the institute explained related technologies and testing methods such as leather, shoemaking, and luggage. Afterwards, the two parties held talks in the conference room.
Duan Limin extended a warm welcome to the delegation. He then briefed the delegation on the overall situation of the China Leather and Footwear Industry Research Institute, especially international cooperation, green leather technology, waste recycling, and the construction of the tannery park in recent years.
Teshome Toga expressed his gratitude to the China Leather and Footwear Industry Research Institute for its warm reception. He said that Ethiopia had rich raw material leather resources and huge potential in the leather industry. He hoped to continue to deepen the technical cooperation with China Leather and Shoes Research Institute on the basis of existing cooperation, comprehensively enhance Ethiopia's tannery technical capabilities, continuously promote the development of the local tannery industry, and make the cooperation between the two parties closer.
The two parties conducted exchanges and discussions on technology introduction, talent training, investment and business inspections, and future cooperation. Teshome Toga said that in the near future, he plans to sign a cooperation agreement with the China Leather and Footwear Industry Research Institute.
The meeting ended in a pleasant atmosphere. This meeting enhanced the communication between the China Leather and Footwear Industry Research Institute and the Ethiopian Embassy in China. It also helped China implement the “Belt and Road” initiative and made a solid foundation for the implementation of the “International Production Capacity Cooperation” strategic measures.
